The Green Bay Packers are unlikely to be heading to Ireland this year to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the much-hyped NFL game in Dublin's Croke Park.
Speculation that the Packers would be heading to the Emerald Isle this year rose after the franchise won international marketing rights in Ireland last week.
However, Bill Michaels, host of "The Bill Michaels Show," has since revealed that Packers President Mark Murphy said his team "most likely will protect the Green Bay game, therefore they will play in Pittsburgh and not Ireland."

Along with the Steelers and Packers, three other NFL teams have international marketing rights in Ireland - the Kansas City Chiefs, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New York Jets.
With the Packers looking like a no-go to play in Ireland this year, what other teams could feasibly make the visit?
As Alan Saunders noted for Steelers Now: "The Steelers will be giving up a home game for the trip to Ireland, as they are required to do once every eight years by the NFL.
"That means the opponent will come from the group of teams that is currently scheduled to be playing in Pittsburgh in 2025."
Ultimately, who will play the Steelers in Dublin, as well as when, is set to be announced by the NFL when the 2025 NFL schedule is revealed this spring.
The NFL confirmed in February that it will play its first-ever regular season game in Dublin, Ireland later this year.
The Pittsburgh Steelers - which have longstanding connections to Ireland through the Rooney family - will play as the designated team in the historic game at Dublin's Croke Park, the home of the GAA.
The sporting event will be hosted in partnership with the Government of Ireland and Dublin City Council.
