Patricia Kennelly, of San Francisco’s Kennelly School of Irish Dance, is still recovering from the 5am starts at the World Championships last week in Philly.
“Between getting the make-up and wigs ready, it would take about two hours” she sighs. “The winners have to stay around longer and keep coming back, so it got to the stage where I wasn’t sure whether I wanted us to win!” she jokes.
Preparing for this weekend’s Golden State Feis in San Francisco, Kennelly tells IrishCentral that a lot of the champs aren’t yet back from their extended vacations planned around The World Championships, and that many are still on their Easter vacation.
However, Kennelly’s own pupils, as well as many more are raring to go tomorrow. “It’s going to be a long weekend, but I’m ready to go,” she laughs.
One thing’s for sure – IrishCentral will be there every step of the way.
