Capturing the hearts of the nation after appearing on the "Late Late Toy Show" in 2020, Wednesday marks one year since the tragic passing of 12-year-old Saoírse Ruane following her battle with cancer.
Saoírse’s mum Roseanna, who has been continuously open on her journey with grief following her devastating loss, has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her daughter on her first anniversary.
Honouring her daughter’s memory, Roseanna shared a video of beautiful balloons which read "one year away from home".
"5th March 2024 – 5th March 2025 – One year away from home," she penned.
Thanking her followers for their "unwavering support and love" over the past twelve months, she heartwarmingly added: "which continues to carry us through."
In a powerful reminder to us all, Roseanna wrote: "Tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us. All it takes is a single moment to change everything. Focus on what’s important and be grateful! Live your life and leave no regrets."

Alongside a second video of flowers in bloom by Saoírse’s graveside, Roseanna began: "And here we are, the eve of your first year anniversary."
The heartbroken mum continued: "We sit here tonight on what was the anniversary of the DAY you passed. It was a Tuesday.
"But tomorrow we will wake to the date being on a Wednesday…. 5th March! That’s the day you left. The day our hearts broke into tiny tiny pieces."

Recalling a conversation she had with Saoírse’s six-year-old sister, Roseanna wrote: "I tried to explain this to Farrah Rose last night, how when you left our hearts broke and no amount of adhesive/glue could ever fix them because a huge piece of our lives is missing forever."
Roseanna penned: "But our broken hearts are very precious hearts that carry scars from the pain and loss we go through and we wouldn’t want them any other way. They are part of who we are and our story, which is a part of you Saoírse".
Roseanna harrowingly continued: "The big round ball called the world continues to turn and so life carries on…. We will never understand this EVER!"
Finishing out her emotional message, Roseanna asked: "12yrs on earth – 12months in heaven – To have had you for 12 seconds was a blessing – Was it really just a beautiful dream?"
Rest in peace, Saoírse.
