Taylor was awarded the 2012 Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights for her commitment to social change through music and later took to the stage to perform tracks from her new album 'Red'.
When the star was chosen as a recipient for the award in July, she was still dating 18-year-old high school senior Conor and was a firm fixture in the infamous family's life, HollywoodLife reports.
Taylor also posed for a series of awkward photos with Conor's family on the red carpet and then on stage when his aunts Kerry and Rory bestowed the gong upon her.
Rory had said of the star during the couple's short-lived summer romance: "I think she's fantastic and I couldn't be more thrilled. She's a good friend of our family and we all adore her and love her. It's great to have her around."
However, Conor's father Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. - who is the nephew of the late American President John F. Kennedy - stayed clear of Taylor, preferring to spend the evening with his girlfriend Cheryl Hines and 'Glee' actress Diana Agron.
Taylor made a swift exit from the party after her performance and is thought to have met up with Harry, who is in New York with his band mates. The pair went public with their romance on Sunday when they were pictured enjoying a date in Central Park.
