The troubled actress – who pleaded not guilty to felony grand theft on Wednesday after she allegedly walked out of upmarket Los Angeles boutique Kamofie & Company wearing a $2,500 necklace – has taken to twitter to defend herself saying her parents Michael and Dina have raised her to respect other people’s property.
She tweeted: "i just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work! fyi- i would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal ... also, what i wear to court shouldnt be front page news. it's just absurd. god bless xox L. (sic)"
On Thursday (10.02.11), it was reported Lindsay is willing to agree a plea deal in her felony grand theft case.
Her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said: "Ms. Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible.
"Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail time so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career."
Police reports on the incident have revealed Lindsay - who is currently on probation stemming from a 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction - had almost walked out of the store days earlier still wearing an earring that she had tried on, with sources suggesting her actions could prove she didn't deliberately leave wearing the necklace but is simply absent-minded.
The 'Machete' star must return to court for another hearing on February 23.
