Portia de Rossi, wife of talkshow host, Ellen DeGeneres, has officially been granted permission to change her name to change her name to DeGeneres.
De Rossi, star of "Ally McBeal" and "Nip/Tuck" marry the comedian, talk show host and "American Idol" judge in 2008.
The Los Angeles Superior Court judge has granted her permission to change her official name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
In a statement released by de Rossi she said "I am thrilled to legally adopt my wife's name. I will continue to use Portia de Rossi for professional purposes."
On Thursday DeGeneres tweeted "the court granted Portia's name change. She's now officially Portia Winfrey."
