Greedy thieves left a Co. Down village in darkness last Wednesday when they dropped metal onto a live electricity conductor while attempting to steal copper tape.
Around 1,000 homes were left without power for up to three hours in Donaghcloney village when robbers attempted to steal copper tape from a vacant property but dropped it onto a high voltage conductor. An emergency crew were called to the scene and to restore power to the locality.
