READ MORE- Historic Irish painting found for sale on ebay
A painting of the Battle of Aughrim, that has huge historical significance, and was discovered on ebay earlier this year is being put up for sale.
The Gorry family in Dublin acquired the painting for an undisclosed sum. They brought it back to Ireland and now plan to sell it, with an asking price of nearly $200,000.
James Gorry said he hoped a State institution might buy the painting to add to the national collection, but he admitted the outcome was “unlikely given the way things are”.
The painting will be available for sale from “from next Sunday at 3pm” from the Gorry's own gallery on Molesworth Street.
