An emergency air and ground search was underway looking for a local man in the in town of Addergoole, County Galway. The search party was called off when he was found in his local pub.
It was reported that a motorist had hit him by accident but he was nowhere to be found when the driver stopped to check.
In the middle of the commotion the man walked into his local pub blissfully unaware of the panic he had caused in the town, according to local newspaper the Connacht Tribune.
Although the man was not injured the police thought that he could be disorientated and he was taken to hospital for observation.
The man said he was merely returning to the bar where he had spent some time earlier that day.
