One of the world's best TV cooks has gone to the eternal kitchen in the sky.
Britain's Keith Floyd died Monday from a heart attack.
Floyd was a legend in Ireland for his, well, flippant attitude to cooking.
Want to know when the wok is hot enough for a stirfry?
Pour yourself a glass of wine and toss some chopped-up scallions into the wok.
When you've finished the wine the oil should be sizzling.
If not, pour more wine.
Floyd, whose TV shows were part entertainment/ part education, was a natural on the small screen.
His straight-up cooking lessons were a mixture of trial, error and alcohol.
The perfect antidote to the squeaky-clean dullsville cookery programs beloved in America.
So long Keith, hope the bar's open when you get there.
