Actor and wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson can trace his roots back to Ireland on his father's side.
The fitness fanatic only discovered his Irish lineage a few years ago.
Johnson (46) hails from a family that boasts a rich, multi-cultural heritage - and a line of famous fighters.
His father Rocky Johnson, who was also a WWE wrestler, is a Black Nova Scotian of Irish descent and his mother is Samoan. His maternal grandfather Peter Maivia was also a prominent professional wrestler.
Rocky Johnson, born Wayde Douglas Bowles, is descended from the Black Loyalists who emigrated to Canada after escaping from a southern plantation in the US with the British they had sided with after the American Revolutionary War.
"I have some strong Irish blood on my dad's side of the family," The Rock confirmed to Entertainment.ie back in 2014 when he made the discovery.
"I've always felt like I was tough and had a little bit of luck and I can drink," he laughed.
In fact, Dwayne is a traditional Gaelic name - derived from the Welsh monk, Saint Dubhán who established an abbey in Hook Head Ireland during the 5th century.
