Over a quarter of a million newspaper articles and nine fascinating new titles have just been added to Findmypast’s collection of historic Irish newspapers. The new titles that can now be found in the collection include:
- The Drogheda Journal/Meath & Louth Advertiser
- Dublin Monitor
- The Galway Vindicator & Connaught Advertiser
- Limerick Reporter & Tipperary Vindicator
- The Newry Examiner and Louth Reporter
- Northern Whig
- Pue’s Occurrences
- The Waterford Chronicle
These new additions are packed with fascinating insights into life in historic Ireland and cover all four of the country’s provinces. This latest update brings the entire collection of Irish newspaper articles on Findmypast to over 2 million.
Newspapers are an excellent source of information when tracing your ancestors in Ireland. They show how local and national events were reported at the time, giving you a vivid picture of what life would have been like for your ancestors. As well as that, the Irish newspaper collection on Findmypast dates back to the 1700s, a time that many other records do not exist for.
