For Grandparents Day dedicate an Irish Heritage Tree to that special someone, planted in the beautiful woodlands of Ireland.
National Grandparents Day takes place on Sunday, September 8, 2024. For many, grandma and grandad (or mamó and dadó in Irish) are seen as our guiding lights - the ones we turn to for comfort since we were children.
The ones who made you appreciate your Irish heritage, a listening ear in a time of need, the passing down of recipes and sentimental pieces, someone to turn to for solace and wisdom. Giving a gift from Ireland is a special gesture that pays tribute to them and their bond to Ireland.

Planting your grandparents a tree in Ireland with the Irish Heritage Tree, an initiative created by IrishCentral in partnership with the Tree Council of Ireland, is a unique and meaningful gift that is full of heart.
The tree can also be a beautiful way to honor the grandparents in our lives who have passed on and to keep their memory alive.
Your grandparents will receive a digital certificate that will include your very special dedication. This certificate can be printed out and framed, making it a beautiful and lasting reminder of your love and appreciation.
Where will my Irish Heritage Tree be planted?
Your Irish Heritage Tree will be planted in rural farmland situated near Drimoleague in the heart of West Cork, which is surrounded by landscapes of immense natural beauty, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with ancient ringforts.
Irish Heritage Tree works in collaboration with the Tree Council of Ireland and we're proud to say that in 2022 at our original forest in County Tipperary, we planted 3,500 native trees. We plant exclusively native Irish trees including oak, alder, birch, and Scots pine.
Earlier this year, Tim Daly farmer of the Irish Heritage Tree site in West Cork gave an update on the planted trees.
"The trees planted under the Irish Heritage Tree program have been growing really well in all of their habitats. With phenomenal growth from some of the birch and alders, where we are already seeing heights of 10 feet and over," he said.
