Findmypast recently added eight new titles and nearly half a million new articles to their Irish newspaper collection.
The brand new additions come from all four provinces of the country and include local and national press. They cover the time period before, during and after The Great Famine in 19th century Ireland (1805-1871).
Three existing newspapers from the collection have also been supplemented with more articles. 68,874 new articles were added to Belfast Morning News, 58,242 to Freeman’s Journal and 22,951 to Cork Examiner.
Findmypast’s entire Irish newspaper collection now holds over 9.7 million fully searchable articles, covering an impressive 231 years of Ireland’s history (1719-1950). Combined with the largest collection of Irish family history records available online, the archive makes it easier than ever to discover your Irish family roots.

- The Enniscorthy News, and County of Wexford Advertiser - 1861-1868, 1871
- The Pilot - 1828-1838
- Tuam Herald - 1838-1871
- Westmeath Independent - 1847-1859
