Whyte’s, Ireland’s premier auction house in specialist art and collectibles, is holding its famous History & Literature Auction this Saturday, November 8, in Dublin.
Comprising nearly 500 lots, the sale spans 2,500 years of historical collectibles including antiquities, old manuscripts, maps, antiquarian books, posters, ephemera, photographs, autographs, letters and more.

The signatures of Padraig Pearse and William Pearse together with another signature on a clipping from a ledger, framed together with portraits of Padraig and William Pearse.
A 1916 Sinn Fein tricolor flag, flown over one of the buildings occupied by the Irish Volunteers during the Rising. Homemade, assembled from panels of green, white and orange cloth, with the words 'Sinn Fein go Deo' (Sinn Fein Forever) above a spray of shamrock, painted in green onto the central panel. Recovered from Dublin Castle yard where it had been dumped by British troops.
Circa 1200 to 500 BC. Celtic twisted gold torc. Assay stamped “1000” circa 1930 in Germany. Found on the shores of the River Danube, circa 1930 by the present owner's grandfather, and assay marked at the time in Germany.
