As part of the ABAIR series, the stories and songs performed at the tenement in north Dublin will mirror the stories of the city’s citizens
St. Patrick’s Festival visitors will experience over 300 years of city life through building 14 Henrietta Street, on a journey from its grand Georgian beginnings to the tenement dwellings of its later years.

No. 14 calls on generations of music and poetry to tell its story. Guided by singer and seanchaí Sean Fitzgerald, audiences will be led through the narrow hallways, and tenement flats of this 300-year-old structure, meeting an array of singers, musicians, poets and storytellers along the way, each offering a glimpse into the many different people who passed through its doors.

ABAIR is a programme of traditional singing and storytelling events curated by Macdara Yeates, exploring the oral folk traditions of Ireland. Taken from the Irish word meaning ‘to say’ and ‘to sing’, the four-day schedule offers a broad range of intimate, unplugged performances highlighting the richness and beauty of these traditions, still preserved and practiced to the present day.
