Adrian McKenna (Ado) - @ado_mack is a 47 year old native of Bray Co Wicklow, Ireland. He was born in 1965 in St Patrick’s Mother and Baby home on the North Circular Road in Dublin.

He is married to Nuala for 26 years and they have one son Dave who is being Commissioned as an Officer in the Irish Navy in September.

Ado spent 21 years of his life working in the hairdressing industry and then made a complete change and went to work in the Human support services.

Ado is a frontline social care professional; he has worked for many years with young people and adults in residential care, detention services, mental health services and post-adoption services. He currently works with a large Dublin-based charity as a Deputy Manager with homeless services. He is recognised as a calm measured voice on Social Care, Child Care, Post Adoption issues, Parenting Strategies, Relationship Advice and Advocacy.

He is a Former Member of Adoptionireland and is currently a Committee member of The Irish Association of Social Care Workers, A Member of Social Justice Ireland and was on the National Campaign Committee for the Yes Campaign for Children.

He has a broad eclectic taste in music, is a vociferous reader (loves his kindle) and writes a blog here.
