Dancers from the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance based in Chicago recently stormed the stage in Ireland at the National Championships in Killarney, Co. Kerry.
The All-Ireland Irish Dancing Championships, which took place in February, brought together dancers from around the globe. The event is a pre-cursor to the World Championships which will take place in Dublin in April.
A total of seven dancers from the Trinity Academy made it into the Top 10 for international solo dance.
Speaking about the achievement, Trinity Academy founder and artistic director Mark Howard said, “Although Trinity is primarily a family organization with 95% of our dancers simply enjoying performing around town and competing at local competitions, it is a point of pride for our organization and the city to achieve such success with Trinity dancers who choose to compete at this Olympic-type level.”
They will represent the U.S. during at the World Championship of Irish Dance next month.
