Dublin are set to have the services of a former Limerick All-Ireland winner, with Brian Ryan set to join up with the panel for 2025.

Ryan won a Celtic Cross as part of the Treaty’s extended panel back in 2020 and went on to feature for the side in the early stages of the following season.

His playing time was curtailed beyond that, however, as Limerick went about securing a four-in-a-row success.

After making a permanent move to Dublin in 2023, Ryan transferred from South Liberties to Na Fianna at club level.

He has seen plentiful success with the Dublin side since his move, with the club’s drought-ending Dublin SHC win in 2023 followed up by an even more impressive campaign in 2024.

After going back-to-back in the county championship, Na Fianna have since gone on to be crowned Leinster champions – while last weekend they punched their tickets to the All-Ireland Club SHC final with a dramatic semi-final win over Loughrea.

Ryan played all 60 minutes and popped up with a point from midfield as his side went on to secure a one-point win against the Galway outfit.

Na Fianna manager Niall Ó Ceallacháin is set to take over the reins from Micheál Donoghue with Dublin’s senior hurlers in 2025, with some busy weeks ahead for both he and Ryan as they prepare for the club decider in January right before the new inter-county season gets underway.
