Visiting Danbury scored 22 unanswered points in the 2nd half to pull away from the home side. Up until the 65th minute, the match was a tightly contested affair. But Danbury's committed defense prevented Lansdowne from making a signature comeback.

The visitors broke the ice in the 2nd minute as their outside center touched down from a movement that began 30 meters out. Danbury maintained constant pressure but were thwarted by the sublime positional kicking of John Giordano and Marcus McAlinden. Lansdowne responded in the 6th minute as Vili Vakasisikakala made thunderous inroads into Danbury territory, which led to Pat "the Baker" touching down in the corner.

The Conneticut men broke the tie and doubled their lead as 9 phases brought their 2nd row into the in-goal in minute 20. Lightning struck immediately on the ensuing kickoff as the visitors scored a scrumptious try from 70 meters out, thereby tripling their advantage. However, in the 32nd minute, some exquisite work by John Farrell and Man of the Match Shane Raftery put the ball into the capable hands of John Giordano. Fullback Giordano was illegally infringed upon while approaching the in-goal, so a penalty try was awarded. Marcus McAlinden's conversion brought the Irishmen to within 7, thereby closing the 1st half scoring.

An infringement in the 45th minute gave Danbury a shot at goal which was dutifully slotted by their outhalf. The next 20 minutes were a close and testy contest until the dam burst. A beautiful 40 meter gallop by the visitors increased their lead to 17. Just 5 minutes later, several focused phases by the Danbury forwards led to another try which extended the advantage to 22. The visitors closed the scoring at the end of a sustained drive in injury time.
The "B" opened with Danbury scoring a well-earned try in the 10th minute. Lansdowne took the lead 8 minutes later as "Rampaging" Steve Murphy and Man of the Match Pat Doona led a drive which saw Dan Devlin slam down. The home side doubled the lead 5 minutes later as Conor Brady slotted an exquisite touch line penalty. Outhalf Brady closed the numbers with 2 minutes left, giving Lansdowne a 13-5 victory.
