Celtic finally hit the goal trail with a vengeance with a 7-0 win over St. Mirren last weekend, but hat-trick hero Shunsuke Nakamura is more interested in retaining the title than his own future. Nakamura is out of contract at the end of the season and has been constantly linked with a return to his native Japan as Celtic look to regain ground lost to Rangers at the top of the table. “Maybe I will stay here, maybe I will move to another league or maybe I will go back to Japan,” Nakamura told the Daily Record after his hat-trick. “No one knows — I don’t know. However, I want to concentrate only on Celtic for the moment. I am only interested in winning the title for the fourth season in a row. “That is more important to me than my future. I don’t know if I am going to stay. I could have left in January but the situation changed and you never know what can happen in the summer. “I am not worried about it. I am concentrating only on winning the next match.” Incredibly, Celtic strikers Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Scott McDonald, Georgios Samaras and Ben Hutchinson all failed to score against St. Mirren when a Scott Brown double and goals from Marc Crosas and a John Potter own goal completed the rout. Manager Gordon Strachan was unconcerned however and said, “When your rivals play before you and win as Rangers did then your job is to win the game and I was glad that we did. “All the players were good, the movement and passing was good and the center halves were good with the ball. If you look at the chances made when the two strikers were on, then you have to say that Scott and Jan were good. “When they were off, we started to get scruffy, so that says a lot about their performances when they were on. They allowed us to have a landing area where we could pass the ball and play from. “I would have been happy with a couple, but seven was a bonus. We continued on from last week in terms of playing good football and making chances. But this time we took the chances. That was the difference.” Crosas was delighted to get his first goal for the Bhoys and said, “It was my first competitive goal. I scored for the reserves in midweek, so I have scored more in the last week than I have in my whole life. “But that is not my job; it is important that the team wins.”
