Saint Patrick’s Day 2018 was surely a March 17 that will go down in Irish sporting history. Not only did the Irish international rugby team defeat England to add the Grand Slam and Triple Crown to their Six Nations glory but Irish pro boxer Michael Conlan wowed the eager Irish fans in Madison Square Garden with a two-round knockout; the fifth knockout in his 6-0 professional boxing record.

The former Olympian, who took a Men's Flyweight bronze in the 2012 Games in London, is regarded as one of Ireland’s most successful amateur fighters but turned pro after a devastating early competition defeat in Rio, taking on his first professional fight in Madison Square Garden, New York, on Saint Patrick’s Day 2017.
