A new look West Ham side escaped Blackpool Wednesday night with all three points after a 3-1 victory.

West Ham had recent loan signing Robbie Keane in the starting lineup after only arriving at the club on Monday. Keane started the game alongside other recent signings; Lars Jacobsen and Gary O'Neil.

Of the three, Keane was the first to catch the away fans eye's when he opened his West Ham account on 37 minutes. Keane was starting alongside attackers Victor Obinna and Federic Piquionne.

Obinna scored the first on 24 minutes before his attempts at doubling his tally allowed Keane to score. James Tomkins knocked a freekick long that was won in the air by Piquionne before Obinna had two strikes on goal that were both repelled by Blackpool keeper Richard Kingson. Kingson could do nothing though as the ball fell to Keane who sliced the ball home from 10 yards out.

It is a promising start to Keane's spell at West Ham, the Irish captain has voiced his desire to score a goal every other game to help West Ham avoid relegation. Should he manage that feat he will avoid any risk of losing his place as Irish captain in the process.

Fellow Irish international Andy Reid had an impressive debut in the game for Blackpool as he looks to return from the international wilderness.
