Aussie Rules officials are adamant that Tadhg Kennelly won’t have time to play for Kerry next season after agreeing a new job as a recruitment officer with the AFL down under.
Kennelly recently played for his club Listowel in the Kerry championship, having retired from the Sydney Swans, but AFL bosses are adamant that he is needed in Australia.
“It appears Tadhg Kennelly will be calling Australia home for the foreseeable future after the Irishman accepted a role as an AFL ambassador,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, GAA and Aussie Rules legend Jim Stynes has undergone successful surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor in Melbourne.
Stynes told reporters that he was “delighted to have to cancel a planned farewell barbeque for close friends in order to have the hastily-arranged operation.”
Surgeon professor Jeffrey Rosenfield said, “I don’t know the exact number of operations I have carried out on him now, I have lost count. Jim is an amazing stayer who just bounces back.
“He hasn’t been firing on all cylinders at the moment, but he was certainly keen to get it done. The operation went well. Everything as planned, there were no surprises.”
