Ki Sung-yueng kept the pressure on Scottish League leaders Rangers with a goal in Sunday’s crucial 2-0 win at St. Johnstone – then warned Celtic’s Glasgow rivals to prepare for a Christmas cracker.

Rangers, four points clear of the Bhoys, visit Celtic Park on Wednesday, December 28 in a game many believe will be crucial to the title race, the South Korean included.

“I think we are in the mood now. We are a much better team than last time we played and we are playing at Celtic Park which gives a lot of confidence,” said Sung-yueng after Celtic’s seventh win a row.

“It is going to be a different kind of atmosphere than at Ibrox, we will have the majority of fans behind us. I haven’t watched the Rangers games but they still have four points us over us at the top which means they still have the advantage but we are chasing now.

“We just want to get three points every game, that is our target. It was a massive win on Sunday and we did brilliantly. They had seven or eight players in the box at times and it wasn’t easy to break them down.”

Striker Gary Hooper, who opened the scoring against St. Johnstone on Sunday, has admitted he is keen to extend his stay at Celtic beyond the 18 months he has left on his contract.

Meanwhile, Celtic are in more trouble with UEFA after their fans protested at last week’s Europa League draw with Udinese in Italy when the 1-1 result saw Neil Lennon’s side bow out of the tournament.

UEFA have confirmed that Celtic have been charged in relation to two offenses during the game in Italy.
The Glasgow club must answer charges related to “the displaying of a banner of an offensive nature and the setting off of fireworks by supporters.”

The case will be heard by UEFA’s control and disciplinary body on January 26. Celtic were recently fined over sectarian chants by fans before a Europa League against Rennes.
