Day 7

An historic three gold medals for team Ireland’s paracycling team as Mark Rowan takes the hand cycling title, with the magnificent duos of James Brown and Damien Shaw as well as Catherine Walsh and Fran Meehan taking bronze in the tandem events.

Day 6

Cork woman Orla Barry takes bronze in the discus while Helen Kearney also takes bronze in equestrian. 

Barry’s first throw of 28.12 in the Olympic stadium London was enough to earn her a very distinguished third spot while Kearney won on Sunday by finishing third in the Individual Freestyle Test 1A at Greenwich Park.

Day 5

Michael McKillop shows his class and wins Ireland’s 5th Gold Medal of the London paralympic games with a fantastic performance in the final of the Men’s T37 1500m. Furthermore he set a new Paralympic record of 4:08:11 to take the gold medal for Ireland.

Day 4

Helen Kearney takes silver in equestrian, the equestrian team take bronze in the team event, and Catherine Walsh and Francine Meehan take silver in cycling.

Walsh and Meehan were history makers for team Ireland on the day, securing Ireland's first ever Paralympic cycling medal.

Day 3

The Usain Bolt of the Paralympics, Jason Smyth sprints his way to gold in the 100m, McKillop takes gold in the 800m, while Darragh McDonald captures gold in the 400m Freestyle swim.

Day 2

Bethany Firth wins Ireland’s first gold medal in the 100m Backstroke S14 final at the Aquatics Centre in London. The 16-year-old sensation won in a time of 1:08:93 and was one of the youngest competitors in the games.
