September 11, 2011 will be a very significant day for the U.S. rugby team which will open their World Cup finals campaign against Ireland in New Zealand that day.
The Irish rugby authorities are hoping to hold a special event around the game in Dublin where there is sure to be a special commemoration.
It will be early in the morning when the game is on, and the rugby honchos are hoping that major American companies in Ireland will take part in the event and help build stronger bonds.
Ironically, one of the leading Irish players, Ronan O’Gara, is an American citizen, born in San Diego. In addition, the U.S. manager is the former Irish manager Eddie O’Sullivan, who has much to prove against his old team.
