For the Notre Dame Shamrock Series, which will this year take place in Yankee Stadium, the football team is paying tribute to their hosts with these great new uniforms.  

The Fighting Irish has hyped up the excitement ahead of their Shamrock Series game in Yankee Stadium, New York, by revealing the very special uniforms that the team will sport for the occasion.

As the Notre Dame team take on Syracuse on November 17 as part of the neutral site tradition started in 2009, they will pay homage to the New York baseball team who are lending them their home ground, incorporating some of the most iconic aspects of the Yankees' uniform into their own.

And of course, it's all about the pinstripes. With pinstripe sleeves and a blue helmet also with pinstripes down the sides, the players will still be branded with Irish on the front and center of their headwear.

While some traditionalists may hate it, what better way to acknowledge the legacy of the Yankees.
