The Dublin Super Cup that is to take place this July is set to be screened on Skysports television. However most notably, it will be featured in 3D.

The best players from Ireland’s Airtricity League will be televised in 3D for the very first time in their careers on Sky Sports 3D. All of the action over the tournament’s two days at the Aviva Stadium will be aired on Sky Sports HD2 and Sky Sports 3D.

This will be huge for the home-grown players who will have never received such exposure before. For the lucky few that Damian Richardson—manager of the Airtricity League XI—selects, each player will have a chance to showcase their abilities against some of the best players in the world while also representing their national league.

With past players such as Kevin Doyle, Stephen Ward, Shane Long and Wes Hoolahan all plying their trade in the league before finding their way to the Premier League, there undoubtedly is a lot of talent on the Irish shores.

The Airtricity League XI will take on the might of Manchester City FC on Saturday, 30 July 2011 and the Scottish Cup winners, Celtic FC on Sunday, 31 July 2011.

Competing in the Dublin Super Cup will be a great honour for the players, affording them the opportunity to showcase their talents and impress on a world stage while the unique 3D transmission will bring to life all of the drama and excitement as well as enhancing the profile of domestic football in Ireland.

The biggest attraction for fans looking to go to the tournament will come in the form of reigning FIFA World Club champions and Italian Cup winners, Inter Milan. Tickets can be bought from Ticketmaster or by visiting www.Dublinsupercup.com.

Damien Richardson commented: “The boys will no doubt be thrilled to learn that the games will be televised in 3D. The innovative broadcast coverage will only add to what will already be an incredible experience as the players aim to give their all and demonstrate the quality of the Irish league against two world class teams.”

Richardson plans to announce his initial fifteen man squad on Monday 20th June, with every Irish player in the Airtricity League hoping that their name will be on his list.
