Incredible images of the Beara Peninsula will make you want to drop everything and experience the magic of the south-west coast of Ireland for yourself.
The Beara Peninsula has long been one of Ireland's best-kept secrets, featuring a heart-stopping array of mountains, valleys, glacial lakes, bogland and of course, the wild Atlantic ocean.
The intense beauty of this portion of the south-west coast of Ireland is shown off in all its wonder in a new book "BEARA" by photographer Norman McCloskey.
Featuring unseen work made over the last two years, the Beara Peninsula is where Norman McCloskey's adventure with photography began, 26 years ago, after visiting the town of Kenmare for a weekend as 20-year-old, and quickly making it his home.
"Endless inspiration has been on his doorstep throughout the years as he developed a real passionate connection with the landscape and created a body of work which today hangs on walls and in private collections all over the world," states a press release.
"BEARA follows McCloskey's first book published in 2013, 'PARKLIGHT - Images of Killarney National Park,' which was the first photographic book on Ireland's premier national park.
"Throughout the project the photographer examined not just the landscape in front of him, but his long-standing relationship with landscape photography, and what it means to be working in this genre today, when everyone is a photographer, and the Instagram generation of snaps and filters and the pursuit of dramatic images, says very little about those who create them.
"The photographer has focused on the raw elements of the landscape and the epic light that transforms this mountainous terrain all year round The result is a collection of images which, to those that know this place will feel fondly familiar, while to those yet to explore it will be a warm and enticing introduction."
