Ireland one of the most popular 'babymoon' destinations in the world

A new study has revealed the world's most popular babymoon destinations, and Ireland ranks in the top three most in-demand hotspots for 2024.

In the whirlwind of anticipation and excitement that comes with expecting a new addition to the family, parents often seek a tranquil retreat to cherish moments of togetherness before their lives transform forever.

For this reason, babymoons have become increasingly popular over the last few years. In the UK alone, searches for ‘best babymoon destinations’ and ‘where to go for a babymoon’ have increased by an impressive 128% over the last three months.

Research conducted by the parenting experts at My 1st Years analyzed Google search data for over 350 popular destinations around the world to reveal where expectant parents are looking to holiday before they welcome their new arrival.

Mexico tops the list as the most popular country overall, making it the number one choice for soon-to-be parents worldwide. From the stunning and relaxing beaches of Tulum to the vibrant culture of Mexico City, it has become a go-to destination for babymoons.

Following in second place is Ireland. The relatively small country offers an impressive range of beautiful sights, historic landmarks, and bustling city vibes, making it a wonderful choice for expecting couples.

Finishing off the top three with another tropical destination: the Bahamas. The relaxing environment of white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water provides the perfect background for quality time together before the baby arrives.

Four of the top ten countries are in Europe, with Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Greece all ranking as some of the most popular countries for babymoons.
