Can Ireland be adequately summed up in one word? Young emigrants to Ireland try to do just that in this new YouTube video by Clara Baez Morandi.
The emigrants describe their new home with words like “green,” “magical,” musical,” “wet,” and “challenging.”
They are then asked to describe the country by a name, a food, a drink (Guinness is a popular choice), a mood, and a song.
Video creator Clara Baez Morandi is an Argentinian/Spanish “storyteller” who lived in Dublin for two years before moving to Los Angeles, where she currently lives. She says about the video, which was posted on St Patrick’s Day, that while living in Ireland, she noticed how she “wasn’t the only foreigner falling in love with the island.”
At the end of the short film, the young emigrants go on to recount what they first felt when they moved to Ireland and how they think they changed by living in the country.
Watch the video below to hear their responses.
