There are some properties in Ireland that look almost too idyllic to be true and this is certainly true of Summerhill Cottage, with its whitewash, gardens, and woodburning stove and picturesque location. We can almost see ourselves, curled up with a cup of tea watching the world go by from this summer house’s conservatory.

Of course, what drew up into this picture-perfect house was its beautiful traditional exterior but the wonder of this little home, in the townland of Ballybrollaghan, outside Mountcharles, in County Donegal. However, the interior is packed full of all mod-cons existing alongside old-world Ireland – including a modern kitchen and conservatory overlooking a deck.

The property is lived on Trovit as being for sale and on Daft as a rental. It’s described as “a single-story cottage” with “two double rooms, one with an en-suite basin and WC.” There’s also a shower room, an open plan kitchen/sitting area (with wood burner). Just a few steps away are a dining area in a sunny conservatory, which leads out to the deck and lawned garden.
The ads themselves state “Summerhill Cottage makes a great base for enjoying the beauty of County Donegal” and the county was recently voted the coolest place in the world by National Geographic.

The cottage is located just miles outside the village of Mountcharles. The village stands in an elevated position, overlooking Donegal Bay, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Summerhill Cottage is also within comfortable traveling distance of Donegal's largest town, Letterkenny, while the Aran Island, in Galway, lie just a little further afield.
