Here's one for all the Rory Gallagher fans out there.

The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival takes place in Gallagher's hometown of Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, this weekend and runs from May 28 to May 31.

Thousands of Rory Gallagher's fans and Blues music fans from all over the world will descend on the popular Donegal town for this massive festival.

Some 25 acts are booked to appear including leading performers from Holland, Germany, Italy, USA, Norway, England, Scotland and Ireland.

Much of the festival is free with the renowned Open Air Street Events available 10 hours a day.

Rolling Stone says this is an "amazing" festival and is best witnessed live.

It's no exaggeration to say that Gallagher was revered by the rock establishment for his guitar playing.

Jimi Hendrix, himself no slouch on the guitar is believed to have said; "How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world? I don't know, go ask Rory Gallagher."

Eric Clapton even said Gallagher was the man who got him back in to the Blues.

Gallagher, who died on June 14 1995, would have been 61 on March 2 this year.
