Inspired by the journey of Irish people across the globe, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has partnered up with Urban Brewing at CHQ for a range of summer events celebrating Irish men and women around the world.
Summer in Dublin has a new edge in 2019 as the inspiring story of Irish culture and its journey to far-flung places around the world is celebrated by EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and Urban Brewing at CHQ.
Off the bat of their well-deserved recognition as Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2019, EPIC has partnered with the newly opened SunTrap bar with Urban Brewing to run a string of summer evening events throughout July, August, and September, providing food, culture and craft beer as the sun sets over the Irish capital.
With late museum openings and weekly offers at the EPIC Gift shop, the summer evenings will take place every Thursday from 4 pm to 10 pm with EPIC, the Irish Village Markets and the Sun Trap bar offering something for whatever type of evening you’re in the humor for.

A tour at EPIC will provide an interactive journey through Irish history and its impact on the world. Visitors to EPIC come away with a much greater understanding of what it means to be Irish seeing Ireland from the outside in.
Through the stories of the men and women who left and the Irish culture they brought with them, visitors find out that what it means to be Irish expands far beyond the borders of Ireland. EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum has won many awards including the European Museum of the Year, Travelers Choice on TripAdvisor, and Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards.
At the Irish Village Markets, visitors can sample delicious food from a variety of food vendors on the terrace from 4 pm every Thursday.
They can also enjoy pints of craft beer at Urban Brewing’s Sun Trap Bar, brewed in-house in their very own micro-brewery. One such beer, the EPIC URBAN Brew is inspired by the journey of Irish people across the globe, with ingredients from a range of different countries.
EPIC URBAN Brew is the latest in Urban Brewing’s rotating selection of exclusive beers brewed in-house in its microbrewery.
The limited-edition brew is an international pale ale (IPA) inspired by the journey of Irish people across the globe. Just as the Irish emigrants settled in many corners of the world, the ingredients in this new IPA have been selected from a range of different countries. The beer is brewed with Lemon Verbena from Argentina, Nottingham Ale Yeast from England, Rye Malt (which traditionally hails from Turkey and Asia Minor and is produced in Belgium), and Hops from both the US (Chinook, Citra and Amarillo) and Germany (Mandarina Bavaria). Lastly, the IPA is an English-style beer, originally invented for the English forces in India.
Head brewer Mickey Lynch said, “We’re very excited to unveil our latest limited edition beer which combines our contemporary approach to beer-making with Ireland’s rich brewing history. We’ve spent a long time creating the perfect recipe to capture the essence of the many countries where the Irish have traveled to, resulting in a complex IPA that has a summery character with refreshing lemon green nuances, balanced with spices from the rye malt, tropical and citrus flavors, and aromas from the hops.”
One of the best ways to enjoy both a visit to EPIC & Urban Brewing is to book a combo ticket for the EPIC & Urban Brewing Beer Paddle!
