This September the first Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif took place, between West Cork and Donegal, and the footage of the event is simply spectacular. This vacation will most certainly be on your bucket list after you watch this video!
The inaugural Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif was a unique event, which features 17 stages spanning over 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) of the Irish coastline on a route that’s designed by cyclists for cyclists.
The multistage Sportif is the first of its kind in Ireland and visits nine counties from County Cork to County Donegal between 13th and 29th September 2017. Challenging climbs and descents coupled with some of the most breath-taking scenery on the planet make this a must – do bucket list Sportif. People can sign up for the whole tour, or do a number of stages over the duration of the series, and can register for any stage up to the day before.

Ireland’s wonderful Wild Atlantic Way is the longest signed coastal route in the world at 2,500km (1,700 miles) in length. This wonderful stretch of coastline is divided into six regions, and the Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif will take you on an amazing journey through each one of them.
A Cycle Sportif is all about the bike, the route and the camaraderie, but when the route involves Ireland’s unique and magical Wild Atlantic Way it becomes so much more than that.

The Wild Atlantic Way Cycle Sportif will form part of a series of bi–annual cycle events along the coastal route (from Kinsale in West Cork to Muff in Donegal). The Sportif series will be fully supported, multistage events that will allow our cyclists concentrate on pumping the legs and taking in the wonderful scenery, letting the team at Ride Wild take care of everything else.
The April/May 2018 Cycle Sportif will be geared very much to the club cyclist looking to get some serious miles into the legs in preparation for the season ahead. The route will be split in four blocks of four stages and will facilitate Cycling clubs both in Ireland and abroad use the event as a pre–season training camp.
