Finally a sighting of Kimye, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, on their honeymoon in Ireland. Surprisingly it wasn’t a castle or luxury spa they were spotted at but the Odeon cinema in Portlaoise, County Laois.

The newlyweds, who flew into Cork on Sunday (May 25) following their wedding outside Florence, Italy, have been keeping a low profile. However, locals on Church Street, in Portlaoise, got quite the surprise when the A-list celebrity couple were spotted coming out of the local cinema.

Reportedly the pair have also enjoy a spot of mountain bike-riding during their trip, tackling the Ballyhoura mountains on the Cork/Limerick border along with four others, including security, of course.

The Irish Independent reported that the couple was staying in Castle Oliver, in Cork, during their honeymoon.

The story of this chart-topping rapper and reality TV star turned fashion designer is making international press. Tourism Ireland is already hard at work taking advantage of the massive press storm.

Marketing Director Mark Henry told The Drum, “We’re looking for earned media opportunities where we can borrow a bit of celebrity brand equity.

“This is a case where we have two of the biggest music and entertainment brands in the form of Kim and Kanye. We know it’s an international media story.

“It was a topic of social media conversation from early in the morning, and by 11am we had made the decision that this was something that would be an opportunity to create earned media for Tourism Ireland."

And there’s no arguing with that.
