As part of her official state visit to Northern Ireland, Queen Elizabeth II paid a visit today to the Belfast set of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.
Accompanied by Prince Phillip, she toured the kingdom of Westeros and met with the show’s cast members and creators.
The most photographed moment of the day, however, came when the Queen cast her gaze over one of the show’s most iconic set pieces, the Iron Throne.
Those of you wondering whether she tested out the throne will have to skip to the 38-minute mark.
We can only speculate about what might have happened had it been the Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady, visiting the set.
Queen Elizabeth has her own throne – a number of them, actually – but, worried that she might grow wistful over the Iron Throne, the very considerate Game of Thrones crew presented her with a miniature to take back to England.
