Barry Keoghan, the Dublin actor who's landed Oscar and Golden Globe nominations as well as IFTA and BAFTA wins, has teamed up with adidas to deliver a stirring look at the new Manchester United third kit.
The video entitled "You Can't Be An Original" debuted today, August 14, and sees Dublin native Keoghan delivering a heartfelt monologue with the backing of the 90s hit song "Born Slippy" by Underworld.
"I found myself in others dreaming like kids do," Keoghan, donning some of the new Manchester United gear, says in the video.
"Then that lightning bolt hit me. When it happens, you know it right away.
"This is what I want, this is what I'm doing forever."
Keoghan's monologue could easily be that of an actor or a sports star, which is fitting as the Oscar nominee once considered pursuing a career in football or boxing.
"I thought I was going to be a footballer or a boxer or something like that - I was into sports," he told Vice in 2017.
"When I’d done acting, I don’t know, there was something about it—I can’t pinpoint what it was, and I don’t do pinpointing well.
"The perks of it are all great, but there’s some other reason why I do it, and I don’t know, so. It’s therapeutic—expression and stuff—so it’s along the lines of that."
The nostalgia-heavy video nicely compliments the new Manchester United third kit which invokes the club's kits of the 90s.
"The jersey features the return of the adidas Trefoil logo to a United shirt for the first time since the 1990s, marking the brand's upcoming anniversary in 2025," Manchester United said upon the kit's release.

As Manchester United says, adidas Originals “went the whole hog” for the new spot which features a “raft of stars from both the present day” alongside Keoghan.
Indeed, the new video features Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Gabby George, Amad, Denis Irwin, Bryan Robson, Frank Stapleton, and Jaap Stam, as well as social media star Angry Ginge.
As it happens, Stapleton, from Dublin, is Keoghan's second cousin.
The video was filmed at The Cliff in Salford, where Manchester United used to train before moving to Carrington.
