A very busy Grafton Street in Dublin serves as the backdrop for Coldplay’s newest music video which was released on Wednesday, September 18.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - along with his “We Pray” collaborators - were met with throngs of crowds when they descended upon Dublin’s Grafton Street on August 28.

Curious fans had gathered earlier in the afternoon as rumors exploded that Coldplay, who was in Dublin for a run of sold-out shows at Croke Park, was set to perform some sort of live set.

Anyone hoping to hear some of Coldplay’s hits was left disappointed, but was likely satisfied to earn some bragging rights for being at the music video shoot.

Afterward, Coldplay described the Grafton Street event as a "magic moment."

@coldplay WE PRAY. Grafton Street, Dublin. Magic moment with @Burna Boy, @Little Simz, @elyanna, @TINI. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and to TikTok for helping to make it happen #newmusic ♬ WE PRAY - Coldplay

In the caption for the music video released on September 18, Coldplay notes: "Filmed on 28 August, 2024 at Grafton Street, Dublin.

"Thanks to everyone who showed up, and to TikTok for helping to make it happen."

Chris Martin’s surprise appearance on Grafton Street came just a few hours after Coldplay shared a sweet video of him exploring Dún Laoghaire and chatting with a busker.

“So happy to be in Dublin,” the video was captioned, "Pleasure to meet you, Gerry."

The multi-Grammy winning British band went on to play four sold-out shows in Croke Park. During the gigs, the band embraced the Irish language, which was used in signage around the stadium.
