Following his 2018 tour, Damian McGinty will join with other “Glee” co-stars in “Santa Fake”
Irish singer, actor, and musician Damian McGinty is returning to our screens, this time taking the lead role in a Christmas movie set to be released in November 2018. Having come to fame via his “Glee Project” win before joining the “Glee” cast, McGinty has concentrated on his music career instead of TV shows and movies over the past few years but “Santa Fake” will herald his much anticipated return.
The Christmas-themed family film will see McGinty, who was previously a member of Irish singing group Celtic Thunder, take on the role of Pat Keely, an Irish immigrant to the US who finds himself wrapped up in an episode of mishaps that bring him from New York to Santa Fe.

Playing the female lead will be another “Glee” former cast member with Heather Morris, who played Brittany Pierce, starring opposite McGinty. The cast also includes Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club, Empire, Ben 10: Omniverse), John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones series, The Lord of the Rings series), and Jeff Fahey (Lost, The Marshal, Texas Rising).
For fans of McGinty’s voice, there’s no need to fret, as you’ll also get to hear him sing in the movie. It is believed that the 25-year-old Co. Derry native is currently recording the soundtrack to the film before filming kicks off in the new year in Santa Fe.
Having returned to Celtic Thunder this Fall as a special guest, McGinty will embark on his biggest US solo tour to date in Spring 2018.
Plenty of great news for Damian McGinty fans! Be sure to share with all the former “Glee” fans.
