The trailer for Greta Gerwig's 2019 adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women is here and we can't wait to see Saoirse Ronan in the iconic role of Jo March.
Christmas might be 134 days away, but we have a little preview in the form of the first trailer for Greta Gerwig's upcoming adaptation of Little Women, which will drop Christmas 2019.

To take on Louisa May Alcott's most famous novel, about the four March sisters' lives in post-Civil War Massachusetts, Gerwig is again teaming up with Saoirse Ronan, who starred in her 2017 semi-autobiographical directorial debut Lady Bird.
Ronan, 25, will star as Jo March, the novel's protagonist. She'll be joined by Emma Watson as the eldest March sister Meg, Eliza Scanlen as third March sister Beth, and Florence Pugh as the youngest, Amy. Laura Dern is Marmee, Meryl Streep plays the sisters’ fierce and wealthy Aunt March, and Timothée Chalamet (who also starred in Lady Bird) plays their neighbor Laurie Lawrence.

Back in June, Gerwig said that she sees Ronan as not only her lead actor but also as an essential filmmaking collaborator.
“I’m so blessed to work with [Saoirse] twice,” Gerwig told Vanity Fair. “She’s such a filmmaker as an actor. She’s like a barometer of … that truth that rings true.”

As Jo, Ronan follows in the footsteps of Katharine Hepburn, June Allyson, and Wynonna Ryder. But if anyone can fill those shoes it's our Saoirse!
Thankfully, the internet seems to agree:
