Actor Michael Fassbender took home the Coppa Volpi prize for best actor at the Venice Film Festival for his role in 'Shame.'
The 34-year-old-actor, who was born in Germany and raised in Ireland, won the award for his role as sex addict Brandon in film-maker Steve McQueen's latest release, reports the Belfast Telegraph.

The British film's backers, Film 4, said that both 'Shame' and its other recognized film 'Wuthering Heights,' were "outstanding quality."
