Noel Gallagher says he can't go on with brother Liam.
Noel said there had been too many rows and too much hassle with Liam for him to go on.
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight," he said on his blog.
"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."
"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan," he added.
Earlier Friday, the band failed to appear as expected at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.
Fans were devastated as screens showed the message "as a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been cancelled."
This was the second time this week the band had canceled out of concerts.
On Sunday they pulled out as the headline act at the V Festival in Essex after Liam was diagnosed with viral laryngitis.
Noel's announcement Friday appeared to confirm months of speculation that the band was falling apart.
Liam told NME last week that he and Liam weren't talking to each other, saying: "It takes more than blood to be my brother."
However, given their fractured history, fans were still holding out hope the pair could smooth things out.
Reports of late-night brawls and aborted recording sessions started leaking out in 1995, just as the band hit the big time.
That same year, Liam refused to join Oasis on their U.S. tour leaving guitarist Noel to take over lead vocals.
Oasis was formed in Manchester in 1991 and they released their first album "Definitely Maybe" in 1994.
In 1995, they released "What's the Story (Morning Glory)," which catapulted them to superband status in Britain and Ireland.
