Irish food poverty charity Crosscare has confirmed that Taylor Swift made a donation to their services following her three sold-out shows in Dublin in June.

Swift, a billionaire, has made it a habit to donate to local charities, typically food banks, in each city of her Eras Tour, and Dublin was no different.

The Irish charity Crosscare, which provides food hampers to people who are struggling to feed their families, expressed its "delight" at receiving the unspecified donation from the global superstar.

"We work with hundreds of families with children who struggle to provide good food every week," Crosscare said in a statement on Thursday.

"We provide them with essential food supplies, help them get back on their feet, and help them find a way to support themselves independently in the long term.

"Taylor’s donation will enhance our ability to assist even more families in need in the coming months."

Crosscare said it operates from "discreet" locations in Dublin, providing food hampers to those in need while helping them regain financial independence and the ability to provide for themselves.

The charity stated that it strives to provide clients with a "hand-up in life, not just a handout."

"Last year, we supported almost 800 families, including over 1,500 children. We distributed over 2,000 food hampers.

"Demand for our service continues to increase, and with donations from Taylor Swift and our existing supporters, we will be able to solidify this service and expand, if needed, to reach those most in need."

Crosscare additionally operates a low-cost café on Portland Row in Dublin, serving more than 6,000 nutritious meals in 2023.

The café has also become a friendly meeting point for members of the local community, offering a safe space to gather and chat.
