The megastar finishes her run of sell-out Aviva shows on Sunday night (June 30). However, she is not due to perform again until Thursday evening (July 4) in Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff Arena, prompting many to believe that she is going to spend a further few days in Ireland.

Taylor is certainly no stranger to these shores, having gone on holidays to Co Wicklow in July 2021 with her former partner Joe Alwyn. The English actor was filming Sally Rooney’s "Conversations with Friends" at the time.

That trip also provided the inspiration for a song on her "Midnights" album (2022) when she referenced picking up a pebble from Greystones beach, which the Taoiseach jokingly referred to on Friday.

In 2021, she was also spotted in Belfast as she visited a pub called The Tipsy Bird and posed with staff and performers.

Taylor’s familiarity with Ireland could be good news for "The Banshees of Inisherin" pub.

The moment a mutual friend lets Alan Mee know the American superstar is on her way to the village of Kilkerrin, the publican will arrange a meeting of locals so their hostelry is Swiftie-ready.

Alan, who transported the JJ Devine’s bar film set – purpose-built temporarily on Achill Island for the hit film "The Banshees Of Inisherin" – said: "Taylor Swift said in an interview that if the pub was ever rebuilt she would love to visit it."

"We’ve now done it; through a mutual friend I’ve let her know that it has been rebuilt in Galway. As recently as a week ago I got a thumbs-up in a text message saying that Taylor knows."

He joked: "There have been reports that if she arrives she will get three free pints; but just the first will be free because I’m sure she has a gold credit card. Business here in Galway is very seasonal."

Alan added: "The pub is beside the local soccer pitch and we will paint a white H on the pitch if she sends word that she is coming. I will also call an emergency meeting so we can put up decorations."

With a pub on the site since 1880, Alan and his wife have been in charge since 2005. However, they put their landmark business up for sale four months ago.

"It’s time for a young couple to take over and do something with it," he said.
