A pub in Edinburgh, Scotland set the record for most pints of Guinness served on St. Patrick’s Day in the UK when a staggering 11,000 pints of the black stuff were poured on Sunday.
Deadline reports on the record set by The Three Sisters pub in Edinburgh on March 17th.
While the Scottish pub hosted an array of traditional St. Patrick’s Day attractions - including coverage of the GAA Club Finals, old Irish films and Irish dancers - the performances of Ireland’s own The Rubberbandits and Boyzone member Shane Lynch helped draw in crowds.
The Irish musicians performed to a sold-out crowd of 900 people on Sunday. Closing out the set, The Rubberbandits even had a ‘rap off’ with Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy, much to the delight of those in attendance.
Donal Hurrell, General Manager at The Three Sisters, said: “Edinburgh is one of the best places to celebrate St Patrick’s Day outside of Ireland and this weekend proved to be one of the best ones yet with great entertainment, great craic and of course the breaking of a UK record.”
“It was without a doubt one of our busiest days of the year so far and even despite the bad weather which saw heavy rain and snow showers, we still had a fantastic turnout and we even reached full capacity by three in the afternoon!
