The bride's favorite song is "Three Times a Lady" by Lionel Richie, so what's a daddy to do if he wants to really please his only little girl? If the father in question is billionaire J.P. McManus, one of Ireland's richest men, the answer's easy just call Lionel's people, arrange a deal and bring him over to Ireland to play the song live at the wedding. Oh, and for good measure, Daddy J.P. threw in a special appearance by Billy Joel as well. Wow!!!!

Such was the scene in Co. Limerick on Saturday at the Irish wedding of the decade, possibly century -- they're saying year, but please, who's gonna beat the Joel/Richie combo, not to mention a massive marquee filled with A-list guests, fine food and drink, and floral arrangements costing in the millions?

Sue Ann McManus, the only daughter of J.P., who made his fortune in horses, sporting ventures, real estate and anything else you can think of, wed her fiancé Cian Foley in front of 1,200 guests, and by all accounts she was stunned when Richie appeared onstage to personally sing his song, which served as the first dance for the bride and groom.

McManus erected a huge marquee on the grounds of his 40,000 square foot Limerick estate, and the food was sublime -- foie gras, sushi, filet mignon, top shelf wine, and 350 bottles of champagne, each with a pricetag of •350. And every table had its own personal waiter.

Joel sang his classic "Uptown Girl," which had everyone on the dance floor, along with "Piano Man." And forget about a box of chocolates as favors for guests - these lucky folks each brought home a specially inscribed Cartier pen worth •500 each.

Guests included former Taoiseach (Prime Minis-ter) Albert Reynolds,

golf supremo Padraig Harrington, noted thoroughbred owner and breeder John Magnier, and all kinds of Irish sporting stars.

Though the celebration was certainly lavish in all sorts of ways, we're quite sure it wasn't snobbish. Your "Page 2" correspondent caught up with J.P. at Michael Flatley's wedding in Cork last year, and a nicer, friendlier guy you could not meet. So congrats to all!
