As coffee remains a beloved staple across Ireland, a new study explores the best places to indulge in your morning brew. With so many options, which coffee shops truly stand out? 

Research from Coffee Friend ranks them based on factors including customer reviews, ratings, online presence, and cost, to uncover the top coffee shops across the UK.

The top spot for the best coffee shop in Ireland goes to the Bean in Dingle. It stands out not only as the only shop to boast a 5-star TripAdvisor rating, but also with 415 reviews, 84% of which are rated as ‘excellent’—the highest of any coffee shop in the ranking. Additionally, Bean in Dingle has the largest Instagram following of any café in the index, further solidifying its place at the top. These impressive figures contribute to an overall score of 79/100.

In second place is Cocobrew, Dublin. With a solid Google rating of 4.6/5 and 79% of its TripAdvisor reviews marked as ‘excellent,’ this trendy Dublin spot earns an overall score of 78/100. While it also enjoys a considerable following on Instagram (6,304), its coffee comes at a price - averaging £3.98 per cup, making it one of the most expensive in the rankings.

Taking third place is Legit Coffee Co, Dublin. With 115 reviews, 62% of which are rated as ‘excellent,’ Legit Coffee Co has earned its place on the list, along with a solid social media following of over 6,000. Like Cocobrew, it offers coffee at £3.98 per cup, making it one of the priciest options. It finishes with an overall score of 73/100.

In fourth and fifth positions are The Stuffed Olive, Bantry and This Must Be the Place, Westport.

Notably, Bean in Dingle and Heron’s Rest Boutique in Galway are the only two coffee shops in the index to achieve a 4.8/5 Google rating, the highest of all in the ranking.
