See, even famous Scientologists have bad days. I mean, what will Will Smith's Annie remake do now that director Ryan Murphy has bailed?
And that's long before we even get to the question of whether the world actually needs an Annie do-over?
Murphy was attached to Annie when it was announced in February, with little Willow Smith set to star as the title character. Could you die of the cuteness? Very possibly. Perhaps that's why Murphy bounced. I bet she’s really whipping her hair back and forth now.
Murphy has plenty of other coals in the fire. According to MTV in talks with Fox 2000 about remaking the 1975 cult hit The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He is also one of the directors in the running for a possible big screen version of Wicked, the musical.
Meanwhile in July Murphy is directing the groundbreaking 1980's play about the AIDS crisis The Normal Heart starring Mark Ruffalo. Things have a way of working out, haven’t they?
